UAF Joint Collaboration For Biochar
MoU Signing for Pak Suzuki- UAF Joint collaboration for Biochar and related technology Research & development and commercialization:
In line with its plan to reduce Carbon footprint for cleaner environment in Pakistan through waste to energy sustainable technologies; Pak Suzuki Motor Company and University of Agriculture, Faisalabad are entering a new phase of Joint collaboration.
Extending their partnership in Biofuel technology and organic fertilizer areas; Pak Suzuki and UAF are working towards converting agricultural waste to value through ‘Biochar Technology’ which delivers climate-Smart Agriculture, soil health improvement and Carbon capture, for cleaner atmosphere.
With the same vision; MD and CEO Pak Suzuki; Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura and Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture, Faisalabad signed an MoU at university campus on Feb 23, 2026.
The MoU envisages joint collaboration in Research & Development activities enhancing capacity building of students through provision of infrastructure facilities, advanced equipment and technical guidance, industry perspectives, and a platform for applied research activities.
The MoU also serves a major milestone for Pak Suzuki – UAF to incorporate the benefits of Biochar and related materials for commercialization plans in Bio fertilizer area for improving Agriculture productivity.
MD and CEO Pak Suzuki; Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura thanked UAF team and mentioned that Pak Suzuki in line with its vision.. “to be a trusted mobility partner for an inclusive future”; views this project as a socially responsible corporate entity where it wants to promote technologies that bring socio-economic improvement in the lives of people; whether its farmers, students or consumers, as we believe in sustainable future for all. Particularly, he mentioned that Pak Suzuki wants to promote Pakistan students to excel in R&D in renewable and sustainable technologies as part of Industry – academia linkage for better environment friendly future.
Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali- Vice Chancellor UAF expressed thanks to Pak Suzuki Management for reconciling with the vision of UAF in leading change through outstanding achievements in learning, discovery, innovation, and community service; significant to agricultural and rural development. He further said that in parallel to Pak Suzuki-UAF current consultancy collaboration being carried on Biofuel and Biofertilizer plant, Biochar will further add value to soil fertility enhancement and improving the farm yield and lives of those involved in agriculture.
